Le Chazelet is a small resort somewhat hidden just above the more well-known La Grave resort, about 100km from Grenoble. Unlike La Grave, which is famous for its off-piste extreme runs, La Chazalet offers more family-type skiing, with gentler pisted runs. That said, if you're an advanced skier or boarder, you can still enjoy some pulsating rides.
The village is small, but locals are well prepared to offer a warm and friendly atmosphere for their winter guests. Perched above La Grave, the village offers stunning views of the La Meije peak, its glaciers, and the rest of the Ecrans mountain range.
While a little out of the way, it is an unforgettable environment, and just may inspire you to try the La Grave ski experience as well.
